Silver Secateurs Competition31 Jul 2009 -Head along this Friday afternoon to the Coalpit Vineyard, Gibbston to support the competitors in the 2009 Silver Secateurs competition. Read on for details.... Silver Secateurs Competition – 2009 COWA is pleased to advise that the Silver Secateurs competition, is being held this Friday 31 July at 1pm. If the weather is particularly unforgiving the event will be postponed to the following Monday. The national competition is being held in Napier, Hawkes Bay on 22nd of August. Gary Crabbe, Mt Rosa Wines has kindly offered to run the event again this year. The event will be held at the Coalpit Vineyard, using the 4 cane-VSP system, similar to that being used in the national competition in Napier this year. To keep the energy levels up, Gary’s also kindly offered to run a sausage sizzle for competitors on the day. Competing vineyards / wineries will need to supply 2 bottles of wine as prizes. Additional wine donations will be very welcome and should be forwarded directly to Gary Crabbe at Mt Rosa Wines. Coalpit Winery is located at 121 Coalpit Road in the Gibbston.
